How does chakra balancing work?
Chakra balancing — known as Reiki — is a Japanese technique developed by Mikao Usui in the early twentieth century. It involves gently placing hands on or near the body to encourage the organism's natural healing response.
In practical terms, chakra balancing activates the parasympathetic nervous system — the part of the nervous system responsible for rest, repair and digestion. Most people under chronic stress are locked in a prolonged sympathetic state (fight or flight). Chakra balancing interrupts this pattern and allows the body to return to a restorative mode.
The result is often a measurable reduction in muscle tension, heart rate and mental noise during the session — with benefits that continue to develop over the following 24 to 72 hours.
I am certified Reiki Level 3 (Master) in the Usui Ryōhō tradition, the original and most widely practised lineage. I have been practising in Benissa, on the Costa Blanca, for over ten years.

There are three levels of Reiki training. Most practitioners work at Level 1 or 2. Level 3 — the Master level — involves advanced training in technique, sensitivity and transmission, along with a much deeper understanding of the mechanisms at work.

What exactly is chakra balancing?
Chakra balancing (also known as Reiki) is a light-touch energy healing practice. It activates the parasympathetic nervous system, allows the body to relax deeply and supports its natural recovery mechanisms. It is concrete, measurable and without side effects.
Do I need to believe in Reiki for it to work?
No. Chakra balancing works at a physiological level — on the nervous system and the body's stress response. Results don't depend on your beliefs. Sceptical clients get the same benefits as anyone else.
How many sessions for lasting results?
Most clients notice a shift from the first session — particularly in sleep and stress levels. For lasting results with chronic issues, 5 to 8 regularly spaced sessions are recommended.
Where do your in-person sessions take place?
Yes. I offer in-person sessions at the Benissa practice. I also offer remote sessions for clients who cannot travel.
